Man charged with giving heroin to girl appears in court

A Columbia man charged with giving heroin to a minor was in court Wednesday.

Jon Patrick “Doom” Washington filed a motion to dismiss the indictment.

That motion was discussed in court Wednesday.

Washington’s trial is set to start next month.

He’s accused of giving heroin to a 16-year-old girl back in 2014.

She later died of a suspected heroin overdose at the Providence Suites in Columbia.

Washington’s trial is scheduled for October 26.
