Highway Patrol arrests 9 during sobriety checkpoint

Results of a weekend DWI checkpoint in Cole County have been released.

Highway Patrol officials arrested 9 people for driving while intoxicated during the checkpoint overnight on Saturday.

Troopers checked more than 300 vehicles from 11:00 p.m. Saturday to 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

Five people were cited for driving while suspended, and troopers arrested three people for misdemeanor drug violations.
