A look inside East Elementary School after major renovations

School board members took their first look inside East Elementary School since recent multimillion-dollar upgrades to the building.

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, along withlighting, electrical, a new gym floor and secure entrance way and more were included in the upgrades.

“You have to have a good work environment and a good environment for the students to maximize that learning experience,” said Bob Weber, director of facilities for Jefferson City Public Schools.

The total cost of the project was $3.4 million.

“I’ve heard great things from the parents and the staff. We’re just excited to get these renovations done and work together for Jefferson City Public Schools,” said Superintendent Larry Linthacum.

These upgrades come just one year after a similar project at West Elementary School on Dix Road.
