Two teens hurt in Boonville crash

Two Mid-Missouri teens are recovering after a car crashed into a semi-truck Saturday.

It happened on Ashley Road in Boonville just after 10:15 a.m., according to Cooper County Emergency Management.

The driver of the car, Adam Lixey, 18, of Boonville, went into oncoming traffic and hit the semi, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The car then hit a sign on the side of the road.

Emergency crews flew the passenger of the car Jaylen Butner, 15, to University Hospital in Columiba. ABC 17 News checked with hospital officials Saturday night who said Butner remained in serious condition.

Emergency crews also drove Lixey to Boone Hospital in Columbia for moderate injuries.
