No arrests after shots fired near MU campus

UPDATED at 11:55: The MU Alert website reports “Columbia Police believe there is no threat to campus at this time.”

An MU text alert first warned of a report of gunfire near campus.

A posting on MU Alert Emergency Information Center said the shots fired incident was near the intersection of Hitt and Cherry Streets.

It says Columbia police are investigating and have found one shell casing on the scene. A silver 4-door vehicle was reportedly seen leaving that area.
