Columbia man pleads guilty to 6 bank robberies on bicycle

A Columbia man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to robbing six banks in Columbia, using a bicycle as his getaway vehicle.

43-year-old Shaun Becker admitted that he robbed the banks between November 20, 2014 and January 3.

Becker took $3,890 from the Missouri Bank II on November 20.

Eight days later, on November 28, Becker took $6,000 from First State Community Bank, and $1,810 from the UMB Bank on December 9.

Becker robbed the Boone County National Bank of $600 on December 15, and took $2,000 from Regions Bank on December 22, according to court documents.

On January 3, Becker took $1,394 from Boone County National Bank.

Becker could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for each count.
