Columbia man out of jail after crashing into backyard

A Columbia man is back on the streets after police said he crashed his car through someone’s backyard.

Daniel Peek was arrested last night after running away from the scene.

Peek bonded out Monday.

His car caught fire around 6:00 p.m. Sunday near Vandiver and Highway 63.

Officers think he hit a road sign before crashing into some trees in a neighborhood off Willowbrook.

Peek was arrested nearby at the Gerbes on Paris Road.

Police said there were traces of meth in his car.
