Lake Ozark man arrested for assault

A Lake Area man was arrested over the weekend for an assault that happened earlier this month.

33-year-old James Dean Turner of Lake Ozark allegedly assaulted a man in the 100
block of Sweet William Road.

Witnesses said the victim was trying to break up a fight between Turner and his girlfriend.

When deputies arrived, Turner had already left the area.

The victim was badly injured and was taken to an area hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment.

Deputies tried to contact Turner at his girlfriend’s home and by phone, but Turner was not at the address where he told deputies he could be found.

Turner was arrested following a traffic stop in Osage Beach.

He is charged with first degree assault and was released on $30,000 surety bond from the Camden Co. Adult Detention facility.

Turner is due in court on September 24.
