Cole County judge delays decision in Metternich case

A Cole County Circuit judge on Wednesday delayed a decision in the theft case involving former Victoria’s Bridal owner Ann Metternich.

Metternich is charged in Cole County with one count of felony theft. She waived a trial by jury in March, and her bench trial began in April in Cole County. The bench trial stopped in April, and Judge Daniel Richard Green had scheduled a case review for Wednesday to announce his decision. Judge Green has rescheduled the case review for Sept. 16 in Jefferson City.

The indictment that was returned in Cole County Circuit Court said Ann Metternich “appropriated tuxedos and pants of a value of at least $500, which property was owned and provided by Anderson’s Formal Wear, and the defendant appropriated such property without the consent of Anderson’s Formal Wear and with the purpose to deprive him thereof.”
