Police looking for suspect accused of indecency on Columbia trail

Columbia police are looking for a suspect after getting two reports of indecency on the MKT Trail Friday.

Authorities said both incident happened Friday afternoon. They say around 12:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the trail between Scott Boulevard and Twin Lakes Trail Head. They said a victim was jogging when a manon a bicycle rode past her, grabbed her butt, and rode on.

About 15 minutes later at 12:48 p.m., authorities got another report of indecency on the trail between Forum Nature Area and the 3M Wetlands Area. Officers say the female victim was walking on the trail when a man on a bike rode past her, stopped, dropped his pants and exposed himself. Authorities said the suspect then followed the victim on his bike while she ran away. They said he stopped after a short distance.

On July 5th , authorities got two reports similar in nature to these that happened on the Hinkson Creek Trail. Police said the investigations are all on-going.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and khaki pants.

The Columbia Police Department urges trail users to be alert and contact law enforcement immediately should you notice any suspicious persons or behavior.
