Warming temperatures & storm chances

Thursday looks like a great summer day as temperatures stay in the low to mid 80s under partly cloudy skies and a light northeasterly breeze.

We will start feeling the summer heat Friday with a slight t-storm chance in the early morning mainly west of HWY 63 as an upper level disturbance passes through. Temperatures will heat to the upper 80s Friday afternoon which is normal for early August.

Upper level winds will carry waves of low pressure through northern Missouri both Saturday and Sunday mornings which could cause a few storms to develop. There is a chance of storms mainly north of I-70 in the morning hours Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s high temperatures will reach the upper 80s with heat indices in the lower 90s. Sunday will feel hotter as afternoon temperatures reach near 90 with heat indices 96-100.
