Over 1,500 people loose power during storms Friday

Over 1,500 people lost power Friday afternoon between Sedalia and Columbia, stretching from Boonville to the Lake of the Ozarks.

At one point, Ameren said over 1,100 customers lost electricity in Pettis, Cooper, Morgan and Miller counties. Co-Mo Electric also had more than 400 homes in the dark.

Several storm reports came in late Friday, including wind damage strong enough to bring down trees as big as 12″ across near the Stover and southwest Versailles areas, which hit some power lines.

Six inches of water was reported on the roadway less than 10 miles south of Pilot Grove, about two miles south of Highway 135 and Route A.

More power poles were down near Route J, around four miles east of Bunceton on Quarles Cut Off Drive, which was blocked by trees.
