Jefferson City newspaper apologizes for cremation ad

The Jefferson City News Tribune issued an apology Monday for an ad that appeared in Sunday’s edition.

The ad for Millard Family Funeral Chapels displayed an image of a German soldier next to an urn.

ABC 17 News reached out to Millard Funeral Chapels and the News Tribune for comment Monday.

The News Tribune released a statement on its Facebook page, “

The wrong image of a soldier was selected by the newspaper’s production department. We apologize on behalf of the News Tribune and Millard Family Funeral Chapels. We regret the mistake.The News Tribune and the Millard Family Funeral Chapels have a long history of service and support to this community and will continue that commitment.”
