Five people hurt in central Columbia car wreck

Five people are recovering after a three-car crash in central Columbia.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Worley Street and Banks Avenue.

Columbia police said they are not sure what caused the crash.

Emergency crews transported four people to the hospital by ambulance. One person also drove to the hospital in their own vehicle.

The crash backed up traffic for at least half an hour.
