Columbia Police release surveillance photos from attempted robbery

The Columbia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in trying to identify suspects in an attempted robbery.

A man and woman were sitting in their parked car in the Cherry Street parking garage on June 21 shortly before midnight when they were approached by a black woman who ran up and told them to get out of the car.

The woman tried to open the driver’s side door, but the man slammed the door shut.

A second woman tried to open the passenger side door but the woman inside the car was able to hold it shut.

The suspects then ran off and got into a blue car.

If you have any information relating to this incident, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
