Commission discusses tax break for Kraft expansion

Boone County Commissioners met Thursday morning to discuss a property tax break on a nearly $115 million expansion project for the Kraft Heinz plant in Columbia.

Commissioners reviewed and did a first-read of the application request.

The project would eliminate about 150 jobs.

The company hinted if the proposal is not approved, it might move operations to another city, taking 350 jobs with it.
