Flood gates closed at the Lake of the Ozarks

ABC 17 News has been watching the impact of the recent rain on the Lake of the Ozarks and the Osage River.

Ameren officials said they have now closed the flood gates at the Bagnell Dam.

The news comes just a day after it announced the gates could stay open for up to two weeks.

With more rain in the forecast, however, Ameren said it may have to reopen them later this weekend.

Residents there are preparing for rising water and for the worst as floating debris is getting larger by the day.
