One injured after bicycle crashes into car in Jefferson City

A 14-year-old boy was injured after crashing his bicycle into a car in Jefferson City Tuesday.

The crash happened at the intersection of East McCarty and Doehla Drive just before 5:00 p.m.

The boy was found laying in the street with serious injuries after being struck by a Honda Accord.

Witnesses at the scene said the boy was riding southbound on Doehla and didn’t stop at the stop sign before continuing onto McCarty Street, where he was hit by the Accord.

The boy was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for his injuries.
