Shakespeare’s demolition slated for next week

A well-known downtown Columbia restaurant building is slated to be demolished next week.

The former downtown location of Shakespeare’s Pizza on 9th Street is set to be torn down on Monday.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is asking the contractor to hold up demolition.

Columbia Building and Site Development Manager Shane Creech told ABC 17 News DNR needs ten days notice for the demolition of a commercial building.
