Man in jail after lighting fire at Columbia bus station

A homeless man is in the Boone County Jail Tuesday after lighting a trash can on fire.

Columbia Police said Timothy Banks flicked a cigarette at a Walmart employee Monday.

Officers used video from the store Monday and discovered a man with a cigarette started a fire at the downtown bus station on 10th street in Columbia.

Officers also said he was wearing shoes and a hat stolen from a car on Orr St. the day before.
