Voluntary Action Center offers window air conditioner exchange

With temperatures consistently in the upper 80s and low 90s in Mid-Missouri this week, the Voluntary Action Center in Columbia is offering a window air conditioner exchange.

Columbia Water and Light and Boone Electric customers can exchange their old, inefficient window air conditioner for free if they qualify.

To be eligible, customers must have Columbia Water & Light or Boone Electric service, have an older, less efficient or broken window unit, and have an annual income of less than 200% of the poverty level.

Each customer is urged to call the Voluntary Action Center before bringing in their older unit.
