Severe Risk Sunday

A warm front will lift into Missouri during the early morning hours of Sunday. Behind this front strong southerly winds will bring in warm and moist air during the day. High temperatures Sunday will reach near 90 degrees, but the humidity will make it feel like the mid 90s during the afternoon.

Then late in the afternoon a cold front will move into Missouri. Showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop along this front and strengthen during the evening. Scattered thunderstorms will last into the overnight hours and into Monday morning. By Monday afternoon rain will become more spotty and taper off.

The atmosphere will already be unstable by Sunday afternoon along with there being ample sheer to support strong to severe storms. All of Mid-Missouri will be under a slight risk late Sunday afternoon and through the evening. The main threats will be damaging winds and large hail. Although an isolated tornado can not be ruled out, the risk is low.
