Marginal severe storm threat Thu-Fri

A few t-storms are expected to pop up Thursday afternoon through evening as a wave of low pressure moves through. Most of these storms are not expected to become severe but isolated severe storms with damaging wind and large hail can’t be ruled out. For this reason, areas along and west of HWY 63 are under a marginal severe risk Thursday afternoon through evening.

Storms are possible Friday morning and again late in the day and overnight as a cold front approaches. All of Mid-Missouri is under a marginal severe risk Friday. There is a chance the risk could be changed depending on forecast atmospheric conditions. Here is a chart explaining what the severe risk categories mean. We will post any updates to our severe threats over the next few days.
