Three people shot in central Columbia, suspects sought

Columbia Police Wednesday responded to a shooting on Forest Avenue in central Columbia just before 5:30 p.m.

The shots were fired on Forest Avenue, just south of the Business Loop.

ABC 17 News confirmed three people were shot on Forest Avenue.

Police told ABC 17 they believe the victims’ injuries were non-life threatening. Two were shot in the leg, one was shot in the arm and the leg.

Dozens of Highway Patrol troopers, Columbia Police, and Boone County deputies were at the scene.

Law enforcement has the intersection of Grand and Forest Avenue blocked off.

Dozens of officers were spanned over a three block area.

First responders were taking a stretcher down Forest Avenue before 5:45.

At least 10-15 shots were heard by witnesses in the area. Police found at least 21 shell casings.

Police were canvassing the area looking for three black men in a white car.

Officers took the crime scene tape down around 9:00 p.m. Police said they still don’t have anyone in custody.
