Warming weekend, slight rain chance

May will start off with mild, dry weather with mostly sunny skies Friday and high temperatures in the low to mid 70s. A cold front moving into northwestern Missouri Friday evening will increase our clouds through Friday night, leading to a few showers or thunder storms through Saturday morning.

Spotty showers and isolated t-storms are possible mainly north of I-70 early in the day Saturday with partly sunny skies. High temperatures will reach into the mid to upper 70s. Most areas will stay dry in the afternoon but a spot shower or t-storm can’t be ruled out.

The warm-up continues into Sunday as southwesterly winds increase to 15 mph in the afternoon, boosting our temperatures into the lower 80s under partly cloudy skies. Rain looks unlikely Sunday with only isolated late-day t-storms possible.
