Highway Patrol leader retires

Thursday marked the last day on the job for the head of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Colonel Ron Replogle announced his retirement earlier this year, but it officially goes into effect Friday.

Replogle has served on the patrol for more than 30 years.

His retirement comes after the governor’s controversial decision to merge the Highway Patrol with the Water Patrol to cut down on costs.
