Columbia man arrested following hit-and-run

A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday night after hitting a woman’s car and taking off.

Police responded to the scene near Broadway and Garth Wednesday night.

The victims told officers the woman was in the passing lane when another driver on his cell phone started veering into her lane.

25-year-old Taylor Carey hit the side of her car and then left the scene.

The woman got his license plate number and investigators tracked Carey down.

He was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.
