Police: Parole absconder arrested in Fulton after stabbing woman twice

A man is in jail in Fulton, accused of stabbing a woman two times.

James Russell, who is a parole absconder, was arrested in the 300 block of Douglas Boulevard after he allegedly stabbed the woman, hid four knives in a wooded area and fled the scene.

The stabbing victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Russell was arrested for first degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering.

He is being held in the Callaway County Jail on a $40,000 cash only bond.

ABC 17 News looked into Russell’s criminal history. He has been previously convicted of possession of a controlled substance and stealing of school property.
