Updated Weekend Forecast

We are continuing to watch a large area of low pressure aloft which is moving slowly east and will bring unsettled weather in for the weekend. However, forecast models have slowed down the rain for Saturday, with most areas not getting rain until the evening hours.

A few showers are possible Saturday morning mainly west of HWY 63 but will be very hit and miss. Skies will remain mostly cloudy Saturday with afternoon temperatures reaching the low to mid 70s with mainly dry conditions. A line of scattered t-storms will move in from west to east from late Saturday afternoon through the evening and overnight with pockets of heavy rain possible. These are expected to move out by mid-morning Sunday.

Showers & t-storms are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and move east and out of our area by midnight. There is a slight risk south of I-70 that a few of these storms could become severe with large hail the primary threat along with isolated strong wind gusts. Widespread severe weather is not expected Sunday.

Rainfall amounts of .75″ to 1″ are likely in much of Mid-Missouri with higher amounts up to 1.5″ west.
