Ameren Missouri warns of scam targeting personal information
A Missouri utility company is warning of scams designed to target consumers to get their personal information.
Ameren Missouri said scammers are trying to get that information over the phone.
A Mid-Missouri woman called into the ABC 17 newsroom saying she lost thousands of dollars to a utility scam over the phone.
The company wants to remind consumers that they will never try to get your information over the phone, at your home, or over the internet.
If you see anything suspicious, you’re asked to call Ameren.
