New Bloomfield man pleads guilty to assaulting, restraining woman
A New Bloomfield man pleaded guilty in Callaway County this week to restraining and assaulting a woman he was in a relationship with on two occasions.
28-year-old Ross Day pleaded guilty to 2nd degree domestic assault, and felonious restraint for an incident in February 2014, and 2nd degree assault, felonious restraint, and unlawful use of a weapon for an incident in May 2014.
Day admitted to restraining and assaulting the woman with a pistol in May.
Day was sentenced to 7 years for each February offense to be served concurrently. He was also sentenced to 7 years for assault and felonious restraint in May, and 4 years for the weapon offense to be served concurrently to one another, but consecutive to the February crimes, totaling 14 years in prison.
