Man pleads guilty to hitting Mid-Missouri police chief

A man received five years probation, after hitting a Mid-Missouri police chief with his car.

Jerry Wilkerson pleaded guilty on Thursday. The judge also gave him 30 days in jail.

Police officers first arrested Wilkerson in January of 2014. Wilkerson is a landlord in Auxvasse, but he turned off water for one of his tenants, even though they paid their bills.

Wilkerson was taken into custody after putting a padlock on the water meter, which is city property.

After filing a complaint at city hall, Wilkerson hit the police chief while he was talking to him from his window, as he pulled away in his vehicle.

Wilkerson turned himself in a few days later.
