Two rounds of storms Wednesday night

Two waves of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected in Mid-Missouri Wednesday night.

There are two severe thunderstorm watches in effect right now, one for areas east of Highway 63 to cover storms moving out of that area until 6:00 p.m.

There is another severe thunderstorm watch for areas west of Highway 63 for storms developing in western Missouri until 7:00 p.m.

The main threats for the early, first wave of storms are large hail and damaging winds, with an isolated tornado possible.

There is a chance another watch could be issued later in the evening for the risk of more storm developing late Wednesday night and lasting into early Thursday morning.
