Man sentenced for carrying gun onto Lincoln U. campus while drunk

A Jefferson City suspect is now going to prison after police say he was drunk and carrying a concealed weapon on the campus of Lincoln University.

Terrence Hawkins was sentenced Wednesday. He received five years behind bars with no chance for parole.

Officers say he appeared intoxicated when they stopped him in the Scruggs Student Center cafeteria in February of 2011.

He was caught hiding another gun in his pants pocket one month later.
