63 Diner in Columbia closes its doors for the last time

An iconic Columbia restaurant closed its doors for the last time Saturday night.

The restaurant had its sales tax license revoked, according the Missouri Department of Revenue website.

The 63 Diner off Rangeline opened in 1989.

Employees told ABC 17 News they were set to close at nine Saturday night, or until they sold out of all the food they had left.

A worker said the place was for sale and that they weren’t aware of any plans to re-open the restaurant or to re-locate.

Customers at the restaurant said they were bummed that the unique restaurant was closing after years of good food and a fun environment.
