Upgrades coming to Jefferson City airport

ABC 17 News Friday learned about upgrades planned at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport.

Officials said later this month, work will start on the main runway, closing it down for about 125 days.

In all, its a project worth $7 million, with 94% of it being paid for with federal funds and grants.

ABC 17 is talking to officials Friday afternoon to find out what kind of impact these upgrades will have on air traffic in the area.

We know the FAA is stopping by the airport Friday for a routine visit.
