Two plead guilty to selling synthetic pot in Boone Co.
Two people pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to selling thousands of pounds of synthetic marijuana.
27-year-old Sharon Harrington of Bunceton pleaded guilty to mail fraud in Boone Co. between March 2011 and December 2013. Harrington was the manager at Impulse Market, and was responsible for overseeing the production of synthetic drugs falsely labeled as incense or potpourri.
Harrington admitted she defrauded the FDA and the public by mailing mis-branded items.
Harrington was involved in the sale of 167 kilograms synthetic marijuana shipped in from China, and admitted to selling it in multiple kilogram quantities.
A sale to an Oklahoma business netted Impulse Market $89,458.
44-year-old Chadwick Schlicht of Osage Beach also pleaded guilty to selling synthetic drugs.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol took $1,840, three guns, packages of synthetic marijuana, packaging materials, acetone, and two bags containing 1.4 kilograms of synthetic powder.
Harrington and Schlicht could face up to 20 years in prison without parole.
