Columbia elementary school wins CenturyLink grant

A Columbia elementary school Wednesday won a $2,000 technology grant from CenturyLink.

Derby Ridge Elementary was one of 13 schools in Missouri to win the grant.

The award is given to schools on behalf of teachers who have created specific plans to implement technology in their classrooms.

Derby Ridge plans to use the grant to start a mobile technology station compiled of iPads, apps, and a printer.

More than 1,000 applications were received across the country for the grant.
