Camden Co. man arrested after running from police, having drugs

A Camden Co. man was arrested Friday after running from police and having marijuana.

A Camden County deputy stopped a driver on Friday night south of the Hurricane Deck Bridge for failing to stay in his lane.

Immediately after 31-year-old Eric Carlson pulled over, he got out of the car and ran down the embankment with the deputy chasing after him on foot.

The deputy told Carlson to stop multiple times, and threatened to use if his taser if he didn’t.

The deputy tased Carlson, causing him to stop, but he got up and continued running away.

Back up officers were called in and Carlson was taken into custody.

Carlson is charged with possession with a controlled substance, misdemeanor resisting arrest, possession of up to marijuana, misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and driving without a license.
