Jefferson City woman charged following high speed chase on Highway 54

A woman is in custody following a high-speed chase on Highway 54 Thursday afternoon.

24-year-old Pearlie Bell of Jefferson City is charged with resisting arrest and driving without a license in Cole Co. with a $25,000 bond. Bell is also charged with aggravated burglary in Kansas with no bond.

Bell is charged with resisting arrest by fleeing and attempted assault of emergency personnel in Miller County with a bond of $300,000.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed to ABC 17 News that Bell was arrested at Highway 54 and Route 179 in Cole Co. on the west side of Jefferson City.

Troopers tried to stop Bell near the Lake of the Ozarks at around 3:00, and followed the vehicle on eastbound Highway 54 for about 30 minutes into Cole Co.

MSHP told ABC 17 the chase apparently started with a home invasion in Kansas Thursday morning.
