City of Columbia appeals wrongful termination suit

The City of Columbia is fighting back in the case of a fired Columbia police officer.

Cole County Judge Pat Joyce ruled in favor of Rob Sanders’ wrongful termination lawsuit against the city.

The city is now appealing that ruling.

Sanders was fired after he pushed a suspect into a wall.

A hearing held in 2013 showed that Sanders technically obeyed the department’s rules.
