Jefferson City drug bust

Three people are in jail after they were charged with multiple drug charges.

Police said the investigation was a lengthy one and took some time to get all the information they needed before the drug bust on March 13th around 9:30 in the morning.

Captain Doug Shoemaker at the Jefferson City Police Department said in order to do drug busts like this they need help from surrounding agencies like SWAT and the Drug Task Force.

“We try to be aggressive with it because locally that’s what we believe our community wants and that’s what we’re planning on doing,” said Shoemaker.

He said teamwork is what brought down three people who were not only accused of distributing crack cocaine and heroin, but JCPD also got illegal weapons off the street.

“I don’t think we would be as effective if we didn’t have the cooperative effort that has continued for so many years under this task force in particular. So, we’ll continue to do that and stay aggressive and go after these folks,” said Shoemaker.

Adrian Fultz, Charles Jackson and Stephanie Sandfort are the three people police arrested Friday morning on Center Street, which is on the East End of town.

Police said they were also charged with intent to distribute near a school.

All three people were arraigned today.
