South Central Correctional Center supervisor arrested in drug search warrant
Saturday, a Missouri Department of Corrections supervisor is out of jail after police find drugs in search warrant.
Maries County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony Williams, 46, who is a Major and Chief of Custody for the State of Missouri Department of Corrections.
Deputies also arrested Sammi Shockley, 38. Shockley is currently on probation for possessing drugs and fraud, according to the Maries County Sheriff’s Office.
“The defendant that owns the residence is actually on probation for drug-related charges at this time,” Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said. “So I know that’s against the Department of Correction’s policies for an employee to be with someone that’s on probation and doing that type of activity.”
Early Saturday morning, members of the Maries County SWAT team and Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group served a search warrant at a home just north of Vienna off of Highway 63.
In the search warrant, deputies found methamphetamines, suspected LSD, suspected controlled tablets, suspected marijuana and items related to the distributing drugs, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies also found firearms at the residence.
Sheriff Heitman said he has reported another incident to William’s supervisor in the past.
“We did have a previous incident with Williams actually,” Heitman said. “And I made contact to the warden of the Licking prison where he’s employed. And notified him that he was associating with someone that is currently actively using and possibly distributing drugs, and put them on notice about a year ago about this.”
According to the sheriff’s office, both Williams and Schockley bonded out of the Maries County jail on $72,500 bond each.
