Multiple Jefferson City streets shut down for sewer work
Several streets are shut down Tuesday in Jefferson City while crews complete sewer work the next couple of days.
Crews closed parts of East Elm and Lafayette around 7:00 Tuesday morning.
The sewer work is expected to last until 5:00 Friday night.
The construction is part of a large, two-year project improving a stretch of Hwy. 50.
The project is adding an extra lane, improving or replacing six overpasses and building a new highway interchange at Lafayette Street.
The project will cost about $20 million.
