Wintry mix and snow Tuesday night- Wednesday

Colder air will move into Mid-Missouri Tuesday night with temperatures dropping to the upper teens and lower 20s by morning. At the same time, moisture will continue to move in from the southwest, riding over the cold air.

Rain will continue to develop south of I-70 and move south through the night, changing to freezing rain after midnight as temperatures fall below freezing. Some sleet is also possible before the wintry mix changes to light snow toward daybreak. A glaze of ice is possible on roads before the changeover to snow. Light snow will be ongoing in the morning with light snow lifting as far north as I-70 for a brief time. This snow will move southeast through the day and end by evening near I-44.

Total snow accumulation of a dusting north of HWY 50, 1-2″ south to the Lake of the Ozarks and 2-3″ near I-44.
