Man convicted in Columbia murder-for-hire plot sentenced to life in prison
A Columbia man convicted last month in a murder-for-hire plot was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
James Thompson was convicted of first degree murder in the death of Brian Daniels in 2013.
In court Monday, Thompson asked for a new trial but was denied.
Casey Lewis was found guilty of Daniels’ murder in Boone County last week.
Prosecutors said Thompson hired Lewis as a hit man to kill Daniels.
