Two arrested in downtown Columbia vandalisms

Two people were arrested after a recent string of downtown Columbia vandalisms over the past week.

Police saw buildings in the 900 block of East Broadway covered in graffiti Wednesday.

More graffiti was found on Thursday on 7th, 8th, and Locust streets.

Some of the buildings vandalized were on the University of Missouri campus.

The downtown unit responded to about 10 reports.

On early Friday morning, University of Missouri Police had a suspect, 25-year-old Aaron Clayborn, in custody for the vandalisms.

Shortly after, officers arrested 19-year-old Henry Crossland on 8th and Elm.

Clayborn was arrested for misdemeanor property damage and was released on municipal summons.

Crossland admitted to the vandalisms and was arrested for misdemeanour property damage with a bond of $500.

Police said there may be other suspects responsible for some of the graffiti.
