MoDOT preparing for accumulating snow

The Missouri Department of Transportation is preparing for accumulating snow affecting road conditions this weekend.

MoDOT will have crews in Boone and Cole counties starting at noon Saturday.

16 trucks will be out in Cole Co., and 19 covering Boone County through Sunday.

Crews will work 12 hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

MoDOT will pre-treat with salt and beet juice as needed, but there is still material on the road from the previous storm.

Crews will treat interstates and heavily traveled state routes first, then move on to lettered and numbered routes with lower traffic volumes, with concentration on hills, curves, and intersections.
