Group says propositions would help aging infrastructure in Columbia

A local group is throwing their support behind proposition one and two in Columbia.

The foundation for Columbia’s future said the city’s aging infrastructure is in disrepair.

Group leaders said proposition one and two will go a long way to help fix it.

The propositions are an electric bond and stormwater rate adjustment issue.

Columbia would use the money to upgrade the city’s electrical system and storm water infrastructure.

Chris Kelly with the Foundation for Columbia’s Future said, “This is not a political issue at all, this is about, ‘are our streets safe? Is our storm water moving appropriately? And do we have the electricity we need for economic development for safety and reliability?'”

Proposition one and two will be on April’s ballot.
