Measurable snow Saturday night

The cold air mass which has settled over Mid-Missouri Friday will gradually shift to the east this weekend. At the same time, moisture will move in from the southwest, rising over the cold air. This will cause snow to fall from late Saturday through early Sunday.

Snow is forecast to move in to areas near HWY 65 in western Missouri 2-4 in the afternoon and spread east into the evening with roads becoming slick as snow accumulates. Light snow will continue through early Sunday morning with measurable snow likely as temperatures remain below freezing. The potential snow amounts as of now through Sunday are from 2-5″ with the highest amounts north of I-70. These are preliminary and will likely change slightly.
